Information for Windows 11 Update
Starting October 14, 2025, Microsoft will no longer provide security updates for Windows 10. Therefore, all desktop computer/laptops at JGU must be updated to the new Windows version 11.
There are still computers running Windows 10. These computers are now missing important updates. The operating system can therefore no longer be operated securely.
To ensure the university's IT security, we are currently implementing the following measure:

- All computers running Windows 10 are automatically shut down every half hour.
Exception
Computers that are not workstations and are used, for example, as measuring or control computers. If you operate such a device and it is not yet running on the JGU measuring device network, please contact the Data Center network group directly (noc@uni-mainz.de).
