Hotline/Helpdesk

The helpdesk of the Data Center provides counselling on all IT problems that might occur in research, teaching and studying at the university of Mainz. The helpdesk is located in room 47 (00 151) right beside the DTP studio on the ground floor of the natural sciences institute building (NatFak), at Johann-Joachim-Becher-Weg 21.

Counselling is provided Mondays to Fridays from 9:00 until 18:00 for questions:

  • via e-mail to hotline@zdv.uni-mainz.de (if possible, please use this way of contact and your university mail account for sending the mail).
  • via telephone: 39-2 63 16. (You may also use the telephones inside of the pool rooms of the Data Center).
  • on site in room 47 (00 151) on the ground floor of the natural sciences institute building.

Disruptions or problems may be reported at any time via → this web form. Your reported problem will then be entered directly into our helpdesk application. You will receive a confirmation of your problem report via e-mail, together with an 'incident ID' (which you may later on refer to in case of further enquiries).

All disruptions or planned maintenance times will be announced on the start page of the Data Center web pages: → www.zdv.uni-mainz.de .

At the helpdesk you may also pick up the posters you ordered and (as a member of staff of the university) you can buy network cables and switches there.
Also, you can (as a member of staff) borrow digital cameras and beamers, and order business cards, book bindings and laminations.

Orders for bindings of diploma theses, term papers etc will be carried out Mondays to Fridays between 11:00 and 12:00 am - i.e. papers that have been handed in until 18:00 on one day may be picked up from 12:00 am the next day.
