The free JGU app has been available to students, employees and guests of Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz since 2018. The app offers a range of useful information and quick access to important services. The Center for Data Processing (ZDV) was commissioned with the technical implementation.

Currently, the JGU app for Android cannot be downloaded from the Google Playstore.
Current app services
IDs (JGU ID, library ID and student ID) are only available in this app on a transitional basis. To access your IDs in the future, please download the new JGU ID card app.

- Canteen: Menu plans for the current week (Studierendenwerk and KHG)
- Libraries: Link to research and the UB opening hours
- Eventcalender: Overview of all public events hostet by the University
Planned features
The development department of the ZDV is continuously working on expanding the app and optimizing existing services. Further features are planned for the near future:
- Optimization of the map display in order to identify libraries, cafeterias and lecture hall buildings even better on the map; including a link to the person search
- Reminder of re-registration deadlines
- Various notifications for different scenarios (e.g. next lecture, today's lunch)
