2. Purpose of processing personal data and data collected

Your personal data will be processed for various purposes, depending on which functions of the JGU App you use:

a) ID card:
Your registration data (user name and identification, which account transmits data) will be transmitted to the JGU servers so that you can get an ID card. This function currently only exists for creating a library card and a card for RMU students. The transmitted ID is stored locally on your device and you can delete it at any time by logging out of the app.

b) Map:
You can use this function to search for rooms and buildings. This and, if applicable, your location, if you have granted these rights, will be displayed to you on the map system of your smartphone. JGU does not create a location profile, but this may be done by the operator of the map system on your smartphone.

c) Local transport information:
Information from the Rhein-Main-Verkehrsverbund is used to provide you with information on local passenger transport departure times. Your IP address will be transmitted during this query process.

3. Legal basis for processing

The different processing purposes are based on different legal bases:

a) ID card
The legal basis is Article 6(1)(e) GDPR in conjunction with Section 2(1) HochSchG RLP.
