How to reach us?
The ZDV Hotline advises on all IT problems that have to do with research, teaching and studying at the University of Mainz. It is located in Room 00 151 next to the DTP studio on the ground floor of the Faculty of Natural Sciences (NatFak), Johann-Joachim-Becher-Weg 21.
Please note: The ZDV hotline will be closed from December 24, 2025, to January 5, 2026.
From 2026, we will be open at the following new times:
Monday to Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Service times till December 23 2025: Monday to Friday from 9 am - 6 pm:

So that we can help you quickly, please include as much information as possible in your email - operating system, programs used and error messages are important information that we would otherwise have to ask for separately.

Our services on site:
- Pick up and pay for ordered posters.
- Borrow projector (staff).
- Order business card printing, binding and lamination.
- Binding orders for diploma theses, seminar papers
- You can hand in your printed work at the ZDV Hotline during their service hours (Mon–Fri 9:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m.). Binding takes place daily between 11:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m.
- If you hand in your work by 11:00 a.m., the bound work can be picked up from 12:00 p.m.
- All submissions after 11 a.m. will be ready for pickup the following day from 12 noon.
- Cash or card payments are not possible. The amount will be debited from your print and copy account.
- You can view the current status of your print account at drucken.zdv.net → Overview → Paid credit.
- Please top up your print account in advance at a service terminal and have your student ID card/copy card + PIN ready when you pick up your work.
- The price per bound copy is €1.50.
- WLAN consultation hours
- If you have any questions about network problems on mobile devices, please visit the WLAN consultation hours.
- Every day from 4:45 p.m. to 5:45 p.m., we deal with uncooperative notebooks, netbooks, and other mobile devices.
- On Fridays, we are available for you for extra long hours: From 3:00 p.m. to 5:45 p.m., the ZDV hotline staff are also available to answer questions and help with problems related to the university Wi-Fi.
