The ZDV has concluded a new contract of Adobe products for employees of the JGU (without Institutes) of which they will pay all costs.
The new contract runs from the 01.11.2021 until the 31.10.2025. Licenced is the product Adobe Creative Cloud Pro (all Apps). With the activation of the Adobe-Software on the JGU-Acoountpage under the item "Additional JGU-Accountfeatures" (Benutzerkonten-Selbstverwaltung (uni-mainz.de)) you accept the Terms of Contract.

Who can use which Adobe Products and how to proceed?
Use of the included features is only permitted within the term of the lease for all active JGU employees. Students may use them in the pool rooms of the ZDV. Guests, lecturers, student/scientific assistants or retired employees or professors are excluded.
The usage authorization for the different user groups at JGU (as well as alternatives in case of missing authorization) is shown in the following table:

Extract from the terms of contract
Concurrent use
Users may activate one license of On-premise Software on up to two computers at a time. However, On-premise Software may not be used on both computers simultaneously; however, simultaneous use on a mobile device and any other computer is permitted.
Home Use
During the License Term, each Eligible Home User may use the On-premise Software on his or her computer. The Products may only be installed on computers that only Participants have, and if they are using licenses for use on home computers ("Home Use"), one copy of the Products may be installed on one computer at a time for Home Use. "Home Use is expressly permitted for Participant's employees and personnel."
Adobe Stock Standard Collection License Terms
"This product includes all Creative Cloud on-premise software, Acrobat Pro, and access to all Creative Cloud on-demand services and access to Adobe Stock on-demand services. For clarification, faculty and staff are defined as "Users" in the Agreement.
The Pro Images licensed pursuant to this Order will be delivered in accordance with the Special Terms for Pro Images in the Adobe Stock Product-Specific License Terms, except that the Pro Images license in the Product-Specific License Terms (Section 7.2(A) of the version of the Product-Specific License Terms: Adobe Stock 2020v2) is replaced as follows: Pro Images are licensed under an Educational License and not under the Extended Work License provided in Section 3.2 of the Adobe Stock Product-Specific License Terms.
"Educational License" means, for faculty and staff, that subject to the restrictions in the Agreement, Adobe grants Customer the non-exclusive, perpetual (only for those specific uses of the Pro Images that Customer has used prior to the end of the License Term, including, if applicable. the grace period), worldwide, non-transferable, non-sublicensable license to permit faculty and staff to access the Adobe Stock On-demand Services and to license, use, reproduce, archive, modify and display the Pro Images in any media for the purpose of:
- (a) advertising, marketing, promotional and ornamental activities, solely in connection with the business; and
- (b) professional and academic activities, solely in connection with the business and not for any other purpose.
For Clarification:
- "Customer may distribute marketing and promotional materials, internal presentations, designs and digital productions depicting or containing the Pro Images only for the benefit of the
Company's benefit." - "While it is true that in the commercial field (e.g., advertising, marketing) no author attribution is required. However, we assume that JGU's activities are mainly editorial (opinion-forming, information-providing). In these cases, it is necessary to name the author and cite the source. These must be provided in an appropriate manner. For example, the information "© name photographer / stock.adobe.com" can be placed on and next to the image in the case of pictures. In the case of films or presentations, the designation can also be made in a credit or appendix. Only in the context of social media use should the information be placed in the image, as images can be shared."
